ACCELERATE
Keywords: ACCELERATE, ACCEL
=== USER MANUAL ===
Usage: accelerate <speed>
Description:
Set the desired speed of your ship in realspace. The ship
gradually accelerates or decelerates toward the target value.
Your requested speed is clamped between 0 and the ship's
maximum speed (see shipstat to check).
Fuel Cost:
Changing speed burns energy equal to the magnitude of the
requested change, divided by 10. If the ship does not have
enough energy in reserve, the command fails with "There is
not enough fuel!"
Requirements:
Pilot seat ........ You must be seated at the ship's controls.
Pilot access ...... Must own the ship or be a listed pilot
(addpilot).
Spacecraft ........ Platforms and non-spacecraft hulls cannot
accelerate.
Launched .......... Ship must be undocked and in realspace
(not hyperspace).
Operational ....... Drive must not be disabled.
Manual control .... Autopilot must be off -- use autopilot
to toggle it.
Examples:
> accelerate 100 Target speed 100 (ship will speed up or
slow down until it reaches 100 or fuel runs out).
> accelerate 0 Bring the ship to a full stop.
Notes:
- Speed changes are echoed to the cockpit, hangars, and the
surrounding starsystem -- other ships can see you accelerate
or decelerate.
- Requesting a speed above maxspeed is silently clamped
to the cap.
- Negative values are clamped to 0 (stop).
