=== USER MANUAL === Usage: modify <attachment> <weapon> unmodify <attachment> <weapon> Description: Attachments are items that can be installed on weapons to modify their combat statistics. A weapon's attachment capacity is shown in its inventory listing as bracket indicators: [*] = filled slot, [] = empty slot. Attaching & Detaching: Both the attachment and the weapon must be in your inventory or equipped. > modify optic rifle Attach the optic to the rifle. > unmodify optic rifle Remove the optic from the rifle. Slot Compatibility: Attachments and weapons define slot types such as Optic-Rifle, Flashlight-Pistol, or Underslung-Grenade. An attachment can only be installed on a weapon if they share at least one compatible slot. A weapon will not accept more attachments than its maximum capacity allows. Stat Modifiers: Examining an attachment shows its stat bonuses. These are applied to the weapon's effective stats while installed: DPS ........... Flat damage bonus Range ......... Maximum engagement range OptRange ...... Optimal range (no accuracy penalty) ROF ........... Rate of fire Handling ...... Attack speed Accuracy ...... Hit chance Recoil ........ Recoil penalty Reload ........ Reload time Rifling ....... Damage multiplier Armor ......... Damage resistance by type Attachments can also grant weapon tags and combat effects that merge with the weapon's own. Mode Gating: Some weapon modes require a specific attachment to be installed before they become available. For example, an underslung grenade launcher mode may require an Underslung-Grenade attachment. Unavailable modes appear in red when examining the weapon. If you detach the required attachment, the weapon automatically reverts to its default mode. Notes: - Use examine on a weapon to see its attachment list and effective stats including all attachment modifiers. - Use examine on an attachment to see its stat modifiers. - Attachments can be freely swapped at any time outside of combat.
