BOARDSHIP
Keywords: BOARDSHIP, BOARDS
=== USER MANUAL ===
Usage: boardship <ship>
Description:
Walk onto a ship parked in the same room as you. You are moved
from the landing pad (or garage floor) into the ship's entrance
room -- typically the airlock or main corridor. From there you
can navigate to the cockpit, hangers, turrets, or crew spaces
normally.
The ship must be physically present in the room (docked at a
pad, parked in a garage, landed on a planet). A shipfire
or remote sensor image does not count.
Requirements:
Ship in room ....... "I see no <X> here." if no match.
Hatch open ......... The pilot or a crew member must have run
openhatch first. Closed hatches reject
boarders with "The hatch is closed!"
Not launching ...... Ships in the launch sequence slam the
hatch: "That ship has already started
launching!"
Has entrance ....... Some hulls (platforms, drones) have no
entrance room: "That ship has no entrance!"
What You See:
You enter <ship>. (to you)
<you> enter <ship>. (to people in the pad room)
<you> enter the ship. (to people already inside)
You then see the entrance room's description automatically.
Notes:
- Name matching is partial -- "boardship sco" will find
any ship whose name starts with "sco" in the same room.
- Boarding works on ships you do not own; actually flying
them still requires ownership or pilot access (addpilot).
- To disembark, just walk out through the hatch; there is
no matching unboard command.
- Ships in flight cannot be boarded -- the ship has to be
physically docked in the same room.
