Usage: fly
Description:
Spread your wings and take to the air. The fly command toggles
flight on and off. While airborne, the (flying) tag appears before
your name in the room.
Requirements:
- You must be wearing equipment with the WINGS flag.
- Your race must support flight.
If you remove your wings while airborne, flight ends immediately
and you drop to the ground.
Effects of Flight:
Gravity Rooms Flying characters are immune to gravity. You
will not fall through rooms flagged with gravity
unless you are stunned or trapped.
Air Sectors Rooms with the flying sector type require
flight to enter. Non-flying characters are
blocked: "You would have to fly to go there."
Water Crossing Flight lets you cross deep water sectors
without needing a boat.
Pathfinding While flying, navigation commands can route
you through gravity rooms that would otherwise
be impassable.
Falling:
If you enter a gravity room without flight, you begin falling
downward through connected rooms below you. Falling deals increasing
damage based on the number of rooms fallen:
1-2 rooms .... You hit the ground with a thud.
3+ rooms ..... You hit the ground with a splat.
Damage scales with distance fallen. Long falls can be lethal.
Being stunned or trapped while flying will cause you to fall
as though you were not flying at all.
Landing:
Type fly again while airborne to land:
You fold your wings and drop to the ground.
There may be a cooldown between toggling flight on and off.
