=== STAFF MANUAL === Usage: auraedit Description: Open an OLC editor to create and modify aura definitions. Auras are persistent area-of-effect buffs or debuffs centered on the user, affecting nearby characters within range each tick. Each aura has three independent effect layers for self, friendlies, and enemies. Main Menu: All aura definitions are listed in two columns. From the main menu: #) Edit ......... Select an aura by number to edit it. A) Add .......... Create a new aura (prompts for name). Q) Quit ......... Exit the editor. Prompts to save if changes were made. Edit Menu Fields: Core: Name .............. Aura display name. Range ............. Radius in rooms the aura reaches. Tick Speed ........ Seconds between each tick. MV Cost/Tick ...... Movement points drained per tick. HP Cost/Tick ...... Hit points drained per tick. Requirements: Race .............. Race restriction (or Any). Class ............. Class requirement. Node .............. Skill-tree node requirement. Skills: Hit Skill ......... Skill governing hit chance on targets. Save Skill ........ Skill targets roll to resist. Hit Multiplier .... Scaling factor for hit rolls. Save Multiplier ... Scaling factor for save rolls. Display: Map Color ......... Xterm-256 background color shown on the overhead map for rooms within the aura. Messages: Msg Activate ...... Shown to the user on activation. Msg Deactivate .... Shown to the user on deactivation. Msg Tick .......... Shown to the user each tick. Msg Room Act ...... Shown to the room on activation. Msg Room Deact .... Shown to the room on deactivation. Msg Room Apply .... Shown to the room when effects apply. Msg Tgt Apply ..... Shown to each affected target. Effect Layers: Each aura has three layers, edited via S, F, and E: S) Self .......... Effects applied to the aura's owner. F) Friendly ...... Effects applied to allied characters. E) Enemy ......... Effects applied to hostile characters. Each layer can define: Applies ........... Stat modifiers. Affect Flags ...... Affect flags toggled on targets. DOTs .............. Damage-over-time effects by name. Damage (flat) ..... Fixed damage per tick. Damage (pct) ...... Percent-based damage per tick. Damage Type ....... Blunt, Slash, Impale, Ballistic, etc. D) Delete ....... Delete the aura (with confirmation). Q) Return ....... Return to the main menu. Restrictions: - Requires the ADMIN staff permission. - Can be used from any position, even while dead.
