=== STAFF MANUAL ===
Usage: purge
purge <target>
Description:
Destroys things in your current room. purge operates on the
room you are standing in -- it never reaches through exits or
into containers. Targets are resolved with normal visibility,
so anything you cannot see is out of reach.
No-Argument Form:
With no target, every NPC and every object in the room is
extracted at once. Players are untouched. The room sees:
<YourName> gestures... You are surrounded by
scorching flames!
The world seems a little cleaner.
Targeted Form:
Object ........ The object is destroyed along with whatever
it contains. Room sees "<you> destroys <obj>.".
Mobile ........ The NPC is extracted. Anything it was
carrying follows the normal Extract rules.
Room sees "<you> disintegrates <mob>.".
Player ........ The player's character is extracted from
the game and their descriptor is forcibly
disconnected on the next network pass. Room
sees "<you> disintegrates <player>." and the
action is written to the staff wiznet as
"(GC) <name> has purged <vict>."
If nothing by that name exists in the room, you see
"Nothing here by that name.".
Restrictions:
- Requires the Security or OLC staff permission to
issue the command at all.
- Purging players additionally requires full Security
or Admin. Attempting to purge a player without those
rights returns "Fuuuuuuuuu!".
- Purging another staff member requires Admin.
- The target must be in the same room as you.
Notes:
- Unlike dc, purge actually removes the character from
the world -- their socket is dropped and their pfile is
not re-saved by this command, so any unsaved state is
lost.
- Mobs and objects purged from a room are gone until the
zone next resets; use with care inside scripted zones.
- The no-argument sweep is effectively a zone cleaner in
miniature: handy for clearing reset clutter from a room
before staging an event there.
