Usage: syslog [off | brief | normal | complete]
Description:
Control the verbosity of system log messages displayed inline
during play. Each mudlog message has a severity level; you only
see messages at or below your syslog setting. With no argument,
shows your current level. Requires General privileges.
Levels:
off ............ (0) No system log messages.
brief .......... (1) High-priority messages only -- staff
commands (force, freeze, reward, etc.),
player connections, and critical events.
normal ......... (2) Standard messages -- OLC saves, zone
resets, script errors, and general staff
actions.
complete ....... (3) All messages including verbose debug
output and low-priority notifications.
How Filtering Works:
Each log message has a severity (BRF=1, NRM=2, CMP=3) and
a minimum staff level. You see a message only if:
1. Your syslog level >= the message's severity.
2. Your character level >= the message's level threshold.
Display:
Log messages appear inline in green brackets:
[ (GC) Yourname forces Victim to stand. ]
Notes:
- Messages are suppressed while you are writing or mailing.
- Your syslog level is saved as a preference flag.
