=== USER MANUAL === Usage: shiplist shiplist all Description: Print a two-column manifest of every ship you own: name on the left, current location on the right. Useful for tracking where your fleet is parked and whether anything is in transit. Requires a comlink -- no comlink, no remote telemetry: You need a comlink to communicate with your ship and find its location. Forms: shiplist ............ Lists ships you personally own. NPC / MOB_SHIP entries are excluded from the player-owned listing. shiplist all ........ Staff-only. Lists every ship in the world, including NPC-piloted ones, with an extra [vnum] column for each ship's current room. Location Colors: Each row's location is color-coded to show flight state at a glance: Green ............... Parked / flying in a starsystem. Yellow .............. In hyperspace transit. Default ............. Has no starsystem at all (limbo / newly-spawned / extracted). Location Values: - <room name> -- ship is in a specific room (docked or in a hanger). - <starsystem> -- ship is flying in that system. - HYPERSPACE -- ship is mid-jump. - NOWHERE -- orphan ship with no world position. Requirements: Comlink ............ Must be carrying a working comlink item (passes has_comlink). Owner .............. Standard listing shows only ships your character owns (by name or clan membership). Notes: - No position requirement -- you can run shiplist from anywhere, including inside another ship, as long as you have a comlink. - NPC-piloted ships (MOB_SHIP type) are hidden from non-staff listings even if they technically belong to you. Use shiplist all as staff to see them. - Output does not show hull / shield / energy -- use shipstat from on board for a combat readiness check. - Hyperspace ships show their old starsystem name in some code paths; the HYPERSPACE label is the definitive state indicator. Strategic Notes: - Quick check before a big logistics move: confirm your fleet is where you expect before running shiprecall or issuing orders. - If a ship you own appears as NOWHERE, contact staff -- something has gone wrong with its world position.
