=== USER MANUAL ===
Usage: shoot <target> [direction]
shoot
Description:
Fire your wielded ranged weapon at a visible target within line of
sight. The target must be within your weapon's range and reachable
through open, unblocked exits. Range is capped at 8 rooms maximum.
If no target is specified, you automatically re-engage your most
recent target (if still alive). This is useful when fighting multiple
similarly-named enemies.
Targeting:
Direction Optional. If omitted, all directions are scanned for
the named target. If specified, only that direction is
searched in a straight line.
Same Room Shooting a target in your own room initiates melee
combat instead of firing a ranged shot.
Group Tank Shots aimed at grouped targets may be intercepted by
group members with the tank role in the same room.
Cooldown:
After firing, you receive a brief combat cooldown (AFF_NOSHOOT)
based on your weapon's speed. You cannot fire again until it
expires. Weapons with the autosnipe flag allow you to change
targets during this cooldown without waiting.
Restrictions:
- You must be wielding a ranged weapon (gun).
- The weapon must be loaded with ammo (if it requires ammo).
- The weapon must not have the noshoot flag (melee-only weapons).
- You cannot shoot while already in melee combat.
- You cannot shoot while falling (affected by gravity).
- Exits with barrier or noshoot flags block line of fire.
- You cannot fire into or out of peaceful rooms.
Ammo:
Each shot consumes ammo from your weapon's magazine. The number of
rounds fired per shot depends on the weapon's rate of fire, capped
by remaining ammo. When the magazine empties, you hear *CLICK*
and must reload before firing again.
