SNEAK
Keywords: SNEAK
=== USER MANUAL ===
Usage: sneak (activate or deactivate sneaking)
Description:
Blend into your surroundings and move without being noticed.
Sneak is a self-buff ability exclusive to the Zombie race
(Stench class) that suppresses your room entry and exit messages,
allowing you to move between rooms undetected.
How It Works:
Using sneak begins a 5-second channel. If uninterrupted, you
enter a sneaking state for 90 seconds:
Activate: You begin to move silently...
(5 seconds later)
You begin to move silently.
Room sees: "$n fades into the shadows."
Interrupted: You are interrupted and fail to sneak.
Using sneak while already sneaking immediately toggles it off:
You stop sneaking.
Effects While Sneaking:
- Your movement between rooms is silent -- no entry or exit
messages are displayed to other characters.
- Max Movement reduced by -15 for the duration.
- The AFF_SNEAK flag is applied for 90 seconds.
Detection:
Sneaking does not make you truly invisible. Other characters may
still detect you based on their Observation skill contesting your
Stealth skill. A high Observation score can reveal a sneaking
character despite their silent movement.
- Movement: Characters in nearby rooms may notice you arriving
or leaving based on Observation vs Stealth.
- Scan: Characters using scan may fail to detect you if your
Stealth exceeds their Observation.
- Friends: Allied characters always see you regardless of stealth.
Cooldown:
After activating sneak, there is a 15-second cooldown before
you can use it again. Toggling sneak off does not trigger the
cooldown.
Combat Behavior:
- The channel can be interrupted by taking damage or other
combat actions.
- Sneak does not require a target -- it is a self-buff.
