Usage: aura terrify
Description:
Terrify is a zombie aura that radiates supernatural dread, causing
nearby enemies to tremble uncontrollably. While active, all hostile
characters within 4 rooms are subjected to the Shaky Hands debuff
each tick.
Requirements:
- Race: Zombie
- Class: Stench -- requires at least 1 point in the Terrify node.
Skill Check:
Each tick, your Natural Abilities skill is rolled at 50%
effectiveness against each enemy's Devotion skill. If the target's
save roll wins, the effect is removed from them until the next pulse.
Shaky Hands:
Enemies who fail their save suffer the following penalties:
- -5 to-hit penalty on all attacks
- 15% reduction to all outgoing damage
- 33% chance to fumble weapon reloads
- 15% chance per combat round to drop a held item
Map Highlight:
While active, the aura's area of effect is shown on your overhead
map as a green (xterm 142) background highlight extending
4 rooms in all reachable directions from your position.
Notes:
- Terrify costs 5 MV per tick to sustain. It deactivates
automatically if you lack sufficient MV.
- The effect only applies to enemies -- allies are unaffected.
- Targets who move out of range lose the debuff when it expires
naturally after the next tick cycle.
- The 50% hit multiplier means strong targets can resist the
effect even if your Natural Abilities skill is high.
