TRACK
Keywords: TRACK
=== USER MANUAL ===
Usage: track <target>
Description:
Sense a trail to a target anywhere in the world. If the target is
reachable within your tracking range, a sequence of directions is displayed
and the path is highlighted on your overhead map for 10 seconds.
Track searches through doors and across zone boundaries. It uses a
flood-fill search, so it can find paths around corners and through
winding corridors -- not just straight lines.
Output:
Trail A sequence of compass directions to follow:
You notice a track: north northeast east southeast
Map Your overhead map is shown with the track range circle
and highlighted path. The map automatically expands to
fit the full track range (up to 19 rooms).
Map Highlights:
Green circle .... Rooms within tracking range
Cyan path ........ Trail to the target
Red endpoint ..... Target's current location
The path updates dynamically as you and the target move. It is
recomputed each time the map renders, so the trail stays current
until the 10-second duration expires.
Skill Check:
Your Observation is rolled against the target's Stealth. If
they win, you fail to find any tracks. Targets with active
anti-tracking effects cannot be tracked at all.
Cooldown:
6 seconds between uses, applied whether or not the track succeeds.
Range:
Base tracking range is 5 rooms. Skill upgrades can extend this
to 10 rooms. Typing track with no argument shows your current
range and displays the range circle on the map.
Notes:
- Track searches globally -- your target does not need to be in
the same zone.
- If you are already in the same room as the target, track will
tell you so rather than plotting a path.
- The highlighted trail persists on your map as you move, letting
you follow it in real time.
